On behalf of Jummo Peoples Network (JPNK) today 31/03/22 we have arranged a peace protest and demonstrations in Seoul, at in front of the Bangladesh Embassy against various human rights violations in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Bangladesh. Our speakers nicely explained the current scenario of CHT. According to CHT commission there are more than 30 human right violations itself in the current year occurred by security forces and Bengali settlers. Out of these 9 JUMMO houses burnt into ashes, 25 indigenous jummos arrested, 4 people tortured and killed , 15 Jummos were abducted and ransom has been collected. It has been observed that law and order situation in CHT. deteriorating day by day. Crimes against indigenous women such as rape, torture, physical harassment, love jihad etc. are taking place continuously. It has been more than 24 years CHT accord has been signed but no sign of peace and harmony in CHT region. Moreover, ruling party of Bangladesh Awami League has been in power for more than 13 years. So it is quite evidence that Bangladesh government have no proper intentions to implement CHT accord. Our demands and goals can not be suppressed by killing Jummos, murder, rape, land grabbing etc. We strongly support our Jummo activists and leaders who have been working hard enough for our fair rights and demand. There struggle will not go in vain. Our aim and demands
1. Ensure accountability and justice for any incidents of human rights abuses that ever taken place against the jummo people in Chittagong hill tracts. 2. Brought the preparators into justice and give exemplary punishment. 3. Arrange to pay proper compensation to the victim’s families. 4. Establish peace through withdrawal of all temporary military camps from the Chittagong hill tracts as promised in the CHT peace accord. 5. Minimize racial conflicts and ensure peace in CHT by withdrawing the Bengali settlers and resettle them honorably to others parts of the country. 6. Prompt full and proper implementation of the terms and conditions of the CHT peace accord.
Thanks to all the attendees, also the friends who came to support us, media reporter and the support of local police. Here some of the pictures that we are pleased to share with our loving Jummos around the world.
